Spotify, hours included

Premium includes fifteen hours of audiobook listening a month, and those hours expire rather than accumulate: whatever you do not spend is gone when the month turns. The allowance covers Premium Individual and the plan manager on Duo and Family accounts. Student plans get none of it. Spotify states the fifteen-hour figure on its own audiobooks page, confirmed there on 2026-07-22. Odyssey listening on Spotify has surged since the film, per press reporting.

That allowance, not the catalog, is what actually decides your Spotify Odyssey, because the poem is long enough to eat a month in one sitting. Alexander Pope’s rhyming couplets run 15 hrs 23 mins, which is longer than the entire monthly allowance, so it cannot be finished inside a single cycle at all. Wilson at 13 hrs 32 mins and Fagles at 13 hrs 3 mins each swallow the better part of the month, leaving little room for anything else you meant to hear. Fitzgerald at 10 hrs 15 mins is the roomiest complete translation in the registry, which makes it the most comfortable fit for a metered month. The BBC dramatization at 3 hrs 49 mins barely registers against the limit, though it is an adaptation rather than the whole poem.
